Born in the province of Segovia, Spain, Gomez began taking drawing courses very early on at the local Escuela de Artes y Oficios.. Several years later, while studying Technical Architecture in Madrid, he attended free sessions of 'Drawing of the Human Figure' at the Circulo de Bellas Artes. Since his first group show in 1968, Gomez has been involved in numerous exhibitions, both group and solo in Spain and Canada. He currently has works in the reputed art galleries, McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, Ontario and Beaverbrook Art Gallery in Fredericton, New Brunswick, as well as in several corporate and private collections.

"With this work I want to pay homage to the towns and villages of another era, which now lie abandoned. I have offered my interpretation and, in lending a poetic quality to my paintings, I have hope that we can reclaim our land."
