Carol has been a practicing professional artist in New Brunswick for over 30 years. She holds two Bachelors degrees, in English Literature, and in Education, and a diploma from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
Carol has exhibited at such venues as Gallery Connexion, the City of Saint John Galleries in Saint John, the CBC Georges Goguen Gallery in Moncton, ArtsPlace in Annapolis Royal, NS, Confederation Centre, Charlottetown, Eyelevel gallery and the Mary E Black Gallery in Halifax, and most recently at Galerie Coline at the University of Moncton in Edmundston. Her work has also been part of many group exhibitions in the Atlantic Provinces, and in the United States. Her large photographs of eyes were shown at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery in the 2007 Marion McCain Atlantic Art Exhibition, curated by Tom Lovett of Winnipeg.

She has been the recipient of 6 Creation grants from ARTSNB, the was awarded in December of 2015. She was the President of Gallery Connexion, a federally funded artist-run centre, for 6 years and served on the board for almost 20 years in various capacities. She is currently the Chair of ARTSNB. She also serves on many juries and committees which advance the profile of the arts in New Brunswick.

“The works in this exhibition were made over the span of a decade. The themes are largely personal and autobiographical; manifestations of events and reactions to situations which work their way into my work. As different in style as they appear to be, the thread of my artistic preoccupations runs through them. It is important to me to document and communicate, since as humans we are all in this together.

There are representative works from 4 larger series in this exhibition – Mad Dogs, made during my most difficult and frustrating times. Unravelled, the abstracts with illegible text made during my mother's advancing dementia. The Prague drawings, because my reaction to that beautiful city was profound and slightly dark, and the Journal series of large panels on which I spilled my inner thoughts on just about everything.

Each of these series reflects my experiences during certain times. All of them were made in conjunction with my photographic work which is labour intensive and ongoing and relates to everything I have made before. This is how I work, obsessively and daily. ENCRYPTION is my third show at Gallery on Queen and I am very appreciative that work that I have kept largely under wraps in drawers in my studio will be shown.
