Daniel Leek

 Fredericton born Daniel Leek is a 7th generation New Brunswick descendant *George and William Leek; they were skilled carpenters responsible for the construction of St.Peter’s Anglican church (1837).

His process often depends on the piece, for example in creating his art work that was exhibited and sold at the 2022 NBBAA exhibit *lawyer; Abraham Beverly Walker, he combined a finished abstract painting with a meticulously created stencil of the likeness of this subject in air-brush Artist fashion. the finished product produced a very polished portrayal of this first Black NB lawyer with a carefully balance abstract  background.

Daniel’s studio practice consist of original charcoal sketches, acrylic paintings and sculptures. 

Daniel ’s work was part of The NBBAA “DiasporART 2021  / SELF-ACTUALIZATION”  Exhibition  at Gallery on Queen 

2021 - Daniel was commissioned to do a painting by the Saint John Theatre company’s CBC award winning production of ‘We Were Here’ written and directed by poet and playwright Clyde Wray. 

Daniel’s work was part of The NBBAA “DiasporART 2022  / SELF-ACTUALIZATION”  Exhibition  at Gallery on Queen. 2022 - A represented Artist at the inaugural NBBAA exhibit at the Queen Street gallery.
