Raphaël Montipetit
Born in 1980 in Laval Des Rapides, Quebec, Raphael Montpetit apprenticed at the age of 17 under his father, the artist Richard Montpetit. Within two years, his works were exhibited at Kastel Gallery in 1998, where he also held a solo show at the age of nineteen. Like his father, he has been painting streets of Montreal creating a language where the subject is dramatized by light both contrasted and bronze or diffuse and mysterious. These features give him both a classic and contemporary style.
